ASTON VILLA COMPLETE BAILEY SIGNING FROM LEVERKUSEN
Premier League club Aston Villa have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen for the transfer of attacking midfielder Leon Bailey. The player had been attracting interest from Villa in the past couple of weeks and the English club opened talks about his transfer to the Premier League a few days ago. The negotiations between the two clubs did not take too much time because the player already grew interested in moving to England and was ready to sign for Villa as well. Reports are now claiming that Villa signing Bailey from Leverkusen means that they are signing a replacement for club captain Jack Grealish and my3now be ready to let him leave the club this summer.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is a keen admirer of Grealish and has been courting the midfielder for some time now but all their hunting days look set to be in the past now as they continue to move nearer to seal the transaction.
It’s not certain yet whether Bailey will be able to fill Grealish’s shoes at Aston Villa immediately but it is believed that Villa have signed a brilliant player. The transfer of the attacker is set to cost the English club a fee of around £30 million and the player will sign a long-term contract at Villa Park with the option of extending his stay at the club.
